I was obviously inspired by Partiful when making the gift editor, but I also took lots of inspiration from old geocities websites (and their reincarnation, neocities). Here is a shoutout to some of those sites 🙂.
This site is just incredible. Look at it. It’s like a highlight reel of the old internet. The rainbow image near the bottom of the page is used in our rainbow theme.
Amazing site (but closed on Mondays). Really nice curation of textures.
This is such a great display of graphics and art and web gardens and other neocities sites. The smiley face effect we have uses graphics from the stickers page.
Another geocities site I love, especially the splash page, which I animated to create a theme for our editor. It uses a tile background Lulu made — you can see all of their graphics their web graphix section. But the best part… the 404 page… go break something so you can see it 🙂
Love the vibes here! I used the forest background tile for a theme in our editor. Can anyone help me get in contact with them to make sure they are okay with that? In the meantime, go give their art a look.
